Collection: 48 Hours

The 48 Hours Concert In Atoka was on August 30-31, 1975, near Atoka Lake. The festival had a wide range of country music singers including Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Jerry Jeff Walker, Larry Gatlin, Hoyt Axton, and Freddy Fender. Many consider the Atoka concert as the beginning of the outlaw country music movement made popular by artists including Jennings and Nelson. They made a documentary about the concert called “Atoka” in 1979. The concert was marketed as a one time event, which stood for years until November 9th, 2024, when there was “Another 48 Hours” Concert in Atoka. The 50th anniversary was held in 2025, the 2026 festival has yet to be announced.
